A Squeeze Page Primer

By Mark / March 8, 2013

squeeze page reportDo you love or hate Squeeze Pages?

I actually like them and prefer them to the forced optins you get when you purchase a product. ย (yes I know I use them but I do update my products and I hate it when you complain that you didn’t see the latest videos I added! ๐Ÿ™‚ )

The trouble is I see so many really poor ones I am starting to dispair.

Squeeze pages are simple things that only need to have 3 elements and 1 outcome.

The 3ย elementsย are:

A Headline

Some benefits for signing up

An Optin Form

It goes without saying that the end result should be the reader uses the Optin form.

If you are lucky or a good copywriter you can get the benefits into the headline and still get 50%+ optins.

I’ve created a short report about squeeze pages which you can access by just clicking one of the buttons below , ironically no signup required!

I would also like some feedback for some research i am doing I would like you to add a link to the squeeze pages you like best in the comments section.

I know this could be open to abuse so please try to refrain from adding your own one! Pinky Promise?

Hi Mark,

I’m a massive fan of squeeze pages. In fact, I’m even having my own squeeze page plugin created as we speak. Would love to get your opinion once it’s fully functional.

Gonna download your report now. Cheers ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Mark,

just today I want to take a new effort to make my squeeze page look better. The optin rate until now is not so great. Your Primer comes just right in the moment I need it. Looks like a Miracle. My squeeze page is: http://abnehmenimschlaftipps.info.

Best regards
Christian

I would try to get the signup box above the fold… and see if you can make the headline do most of the selling

Just a thought,
You say no sign up… BUT to access the reprot you need to have a Facebook, Twitter or GPlus account.
Can it be accessed without, as then it would be truly free. I see and agree how the system builds traffic but the option to say no for something that is free could be usefull. I would like to see your report but I dont want to look p passwords tonight.
I am not complaining Mark I dont think you said it was free but lots of Marketers do this say its free and it costs you access to all your facebook friends. Do you think an Ok dont need to log in this time button would build even more trust with new potential subscribers.

Hi ken,

I do take you point, but look at it from a marketers point of view,a lot of the stuff we produce takes time, and if we just give it away without a share or a signup then that time isn’t used properly.

Isn’t the time i spent writing the report worth something?

If I gave all my reports away without a signup or a opportunity to share the page it’s on whats the incentive for creating free reports, I might as well charge $7 and do it as a WSO.

There is alos the consideration that if someone doesn’t want to click a button to read a report then that report probably isn’t for them.

One alternative would be to create reports and cram them full of affiliate links , (I saw one last week with 12 different products being promoted) I am sure people wouldn’t prefer that.

Maybe they would ! Let me know if thats a good alternative

In Reply to comments March 12th.

Hi Mark
I appreciate your reply.
This is how I would like to see it work.
Some one offers access to Software or a report without mentioning the word free.
The option is to check out the report then come back and click an FB like button twiter or whatever once they know that it is worthwile content to pass on.
Just my idea!
I would feel comfotable and make the effort for worthwhile stuff.
I did acess the squeee report and then cliced another button after I checked it out so worked for you.
I have been around a while and have respect for you Mark so not knocking just dont see forced clicking as free.
Not that you yourself said anything was free.
just my 2 cents i look forward to more good stuff especially if I get a choice.
Regards.

Ken,

The problem is that people don’t share, look at the number of shares most of the posts get 1 or 2 and the button is right there at the end of the articles.

So either the content is not worthy of sharing, (which the comments don’t really support) or it’s not something that people do ulesss they are encouraged ๐Ÿ™‚
