Why I am Changing My Business Model

freedom!

Can you imagine going to one of your AdSense sites and seeing no ads appearing? Then going to another and seeing the same, and another , and another? How would you feel? Well this is what happened to me earlier this week. On over 100 sites Not 1 AdSense ad was appearing. How did I feel? Elated! Yes seriously and that feeling shocked me. I felt elated because the first thing that went through my mind was that I was finally free of having to update my sites, free of having to worry about what google was doing. That feeling shocked me as I had never thought about my beloved AdSense … [Read more...]

Monday Tip – Provide More Consume Less

One in a Crowd

I sent out an email last week about how things stay the same in the Online Marketing World despite the hundreds of magic bullet products that we see every year. I had several positive comments about the theme of providing more and consuming less, so I thought it would be good to expand it some more here. First off the email will be at the bottom of the post, it was the 2nd of a 2 part email.  It did go on a bit too long and I had to cut it so i'll flesh it out a little here.   Firstly what do I mean by Provide More Consume Less, If you've been in Internet marketing for more … [Read more...]

Conversions – The Secret to Success

Conversion the secret to success

Back in June I wrote an article about product pricing  and put forward the idea that it was probably a good time to reconsider how we priced internet marketing products. One thing I got wrong in that was that I said affiliates probably wouldn't want to promote a product that was selling at $8 - $12  I was wrong , some affiliates have woken up to the fact that low cost products can provide good value to their subscribers while at the same time earning them a living. After all we are Internet marketers and Internet marketing is how we put food on the table. I was doing some research … [Read more...]

Dear Google Why Do We Always Fight?

Man and woman staring at each other with hostile expressions.

Why is Internet Marketing a constant struggle with Google? It shouldn't be , it should be a symbiotic relationship with Google telling us what they want , us marketers providing it, Google is happy we are happy and the people using the search engines are happy. But no, thats not how it works.   Google seems determined to make us all jump through hoops to get ranked and when we do finally start to rank they change the rules again and then we have to start over again. Google seems to hate people who use the internet to make money… well everyone who isn't them or one of their … [Read more...]

Amazon Sales Tax – A Hint of Commonsense at Last

Amazon-Sales-Tax-Tennessee

Let me get straight to the point and say  "I generally don't like politics and I don't trust Politicians" I suspect 99% of the things they do have an ulterior motive. On top of that I make no attempt to pretend I understand the American Political System. So now that i've made that clear it's good to see that California looks set to repeal the "Amazon Tax Law" that was recently passed and resulted in Amazon dropping all is californian affiliates , believed to be over 10,000 people. Amazon have stated that they will re-instate their affiliates. I first came across this trend for US states … [Read more...]

Backlinking Tools Revisited

15 months ago I wrote about 2 free tools that I was using as an alternative to outsourcing link building. Since then I have upgraded both to premium accounts and continue to use them on a regular basis   You can read that article at:   A Free Alternative To Outsourcing   Running an IM related forum means that I spend lots of time testing tools and products many of them aren't worth recommending so after a month or two I stop using them or cancel my subscription.  There are usually several reasons I don't stick with them.   1. They just don't … [Read more...]
