I am not suggesting that at the end of the month that you’ll be able to retire but I am saying that you’ll have a usable system in place that you can build on. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither is an Internet marketing career. I’ve been doing IM for over 4 years now it’s only in the past 9 months that I’ve finally got myself organised so that I can work a few hours a week if I wish and still maintain my income.

If you are willing to sacrifice 30 hours this month and $30 then you can succeed.

The first stop you should make is ezinearticles.com. Ezinearticles is a great place to research business models.  There are loads of categories here find one that appeals to you. Once you click on a sub-niche you’ll see a link to the top Authors in each niche. Follow this link and you’ll get a list of the Top Authors in that niche. Now all you need to do is to click on some of their articles and look at where their resource links go.

This way you’ll get to see the business model they are using, and believe me if they have bothered to write lots of articles it is working. Follow the process to the end and see all the tricks and tactics they use

It’s now down to you to replicate the business model.

Even creating your own product can cost less than $30.  The graphics on my Twitter Tips and Tricks Site cost me  $17, the domain cost me $9. I wrote the book in less than a day. Although I am giving away the product at the moment I could start to charge for it or even sell it as a complete business package via a site like sitepoint or digitalpoint.  Check out the graphics at www.twittertipsandtricks.com

If you were to believe all the hype you would think that it was easy to make $100,000 a year online. It’s not!… it takes work. You should try to think of the fist few months that you are working online as an apprenticeship. Use that time to gather knowledge and don’t worry too much about How much income you will earn.

Following on from that it is best to start building your online business before you need the extra money or before you find yourself dependant on your online income. However if you need quick cash there are several things you can do and In this post I will look at two of them.

Traditionally Internet marketers build sites or products that will earn money over a long period of time. I have sites that have been earning money over the past 4 years each month I add to my sites and build my income even more. It’s like filling a bucket with a dripping tap every month you add a few extra drips and soon the bucket is filling quickly. That doesn’t help if you need a bucket full of cash now.

The first method is to offer a service. I spent 6 months building sites for people when I first started internet marketing.I Used to build autogenerated sites and host them on my server I could complete these in a few minutes with the tools I had. It was quite easy to make $50 to $100 a day doing this. It kept me going until my own sites took off. If you don’t think that this will be a profitable venture let me tell you that I regularly spend over $500 a month on external services and I am not alone. I know several marketers that spend two or three times that.

There are loads of services you could perform you just need to price your services at the right level. Too much and you won’t get enough business too little and  you’ll get overwhelmed with work and won’t be able to keep up. Some services you could consider are content creation, Forum posting, link building, graphic creation etc.

In addition to providing services you could create sites and sell them, Pre built sites can be sold for over $100. If you can build and sell 3 or 4 a week you will have a nice income that you can rely on.

There are two places that you can sell your services, Sitepoint.com and the Digitalpoint forum. It may be also worthwhile offering your services at the warrior forum. I recently found a great graphics designer there. 

For earning quick cash there is no better way that to offer services or sell sites..try it you’ll be glad you did.

I recently completed an Article Marketing Course as part of Wordpress Goldmine and in the past few weeks I’ve done a few interviews where I mentioned some of the things the course features. The one aspect that has had most comments and questions (and occasional abuse) is my assertion that when article marketing you should treat your Resource/Bio box like an Adwords Ad.

I thought I’d use this blog post to try to clarify exactly what I mean.

The first thing that you need to realise that as a marketer the resource box is the most important part of the article, this is where you are going to make your money and allow you to realise you dreams. To put it as simply as possible, If you get 1000 views on an article and have a 10% Click Through Rate (CTR) 100 people will visit your site. If you manage to get a 30% CTR you have 300 visitors and hopefully make 3 times as much money as you did previously.

Simply increasing my click through Rate has Increased the income on some of my clickbank accounts from a regular $40 per day to over $100 a day several days a week.

The way I’ve done this is to look at how adsense ads are displayed and worded and then apply these techniques to my articles. People who do PPC sucessfully spend hours getting their ads right and testing them to make them as effective as possible. So why shouldn’t article maketers take as much time and effort to work out which resources boxes convert best and attract buyers.

Look at the following 2 resource boxes and guess which one would convert best.

Here we are with another Monday Tips posts.  These aren’t strictly tips today but 3 things you should know that might change the way you do business. As with all good things I’ll save the best until last and trust me you will want to see that.

The first thing you need to know is that Amazon have changed their TOS and they are now stopping anyone from using PPC to drive traffic to Amazon sales pages.  In the space of a few minutes people who have built their business on this model are without an income unless they have been sensible and diversified.

On the other hand those of us who use article marketing are possibily looking at an increase in income over the coming months.

The email they sent out says…

“After careful review of how we are investing our advertising resources, we have made the decision to no longer pay referral fees to Associates who send users to www.amazon.com, www.amazon.ca, or www.endless.com through keyword bidding and other paid search on Google, Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines, and their extended search networks. If you’re not sure if this change affects you, please visit this page for FAQs.”

The second this thats worth know is all about Twollars 

Twollars is an online currency set up for twitter users , the idea is to help charities raise income. How it works is as follows. If someone makes an interesting tweet or makes a useful tweet, you can give them some of your twollars  (50 free with every account) . They can then pass these on to companies who will sponsor a charity and match Twollars for Dollars.  So for example if Sony wanted to attract twitter users they could agree to give $1 for ever twollar donated at their site.  Everyone wins.  The Company, The Charity and Twitter users.

Twollars is the idea of a very good friend of mine  Eiso Kant who I’ve know for as long as I’ve been marketing online. He was the programmer behind RSSG and several of my early sites.  At 18 years of age he is one of the most farsighted internet Entrprenures that i’ve ever met.  Check out twollars and send me some if you like it!!

Now for the big one.

One of the problems we all have is keeping people on our sites long enough, with google measuring how long people stay on your site as one indicator of the value of your site the longer people stay the better.

Let me now introduct Apture to you.  Apture is a plugin that does some awesome stuff That will keep people on your site. I am still working out a way to monetize it , videos will be one method and i am sure that I can think of some more over the next few days. So lets have a quick look at apture in action.

If you want to reduce the amount of time it takes to find a profitable niche you could do no worse than to take a look at the example set by big business.

Have you ever noticed that when a new Wal Mart opens up in a new area they are quickly followed by smaller stores. or when McDonalds opens up soon after you’ll find a new Wendy’s close by. When Starbucks open up what happens? Smaller coffee stores spring up in the area. Why do you think this is?

The market leaders spend a lot of time and money on researching new locations. Do the smaller stores do the same research? Of course not they  just follow along behind the big guys , why spend money on research when Maccy D’s have already done it for you.

It’s the same in internet marketing if you want a short cut to a niche then look at what the big guys are doing. The ideal place to do this is at article sites like Ezinearticles and Articlebase. The first thing you need to do is to identify the big guys in each niche.

You’ll notice the 2 key words in that sentence are “each niche”If you look at the guys who have published most articles overall you’ll find a lot of information but it won’t actually help you too much in most cases. However if you go into each niche you can follow a link find out who are the top writers with the most articles in that niche.

I tend to look at the guys lower down the list rather than the top ones this is mainly because I’ve found they will be targeting different niches where as the top one will be targeting a single niche. It’s these multiple niche models that appeal to me more.

The expensive PPC analysis software that is being promoted at the moment works by assuming that if someone spends money on PPC ads for a long time then the ads are profitable. We will assume the same …

…If someone spends the time and money to write over 50 articles in a niche then it’s profitable for them. You then just need to look at their business model and improve it.  Improving on most article marketing is suprisingly easy as most article marketers make simple mistakes, I looked at over 100 articles researching this blog post and I estimate over 75% of them could have been improved in one way or another.
